Fire your worst clients (and thank yourself later)
Montoya’s system to rate, rank, and release the clients who hold you back
In The Brand Called You, Montoya recommends sorting your client list into three buckets:
A Clients – Respect your time, refer others, and pay without drama. Clone them.
B Clients – Not terrible, but high maintenance and low leverage.
C Clients – Drain your time, energy, and sanity.
His advice?
Let the C clients go.
Start replacing B clients with more A’s.
Build a brand that repels the wrong ones before they ever call.
You already know who your C clients are.
You just haven’t fired them yet.
